The urban ONOMA Hotel in the center of Thessaloniki intelligently integrates technological systems and modern urban greenery into its facilities. It proves that nature, technology, and the urban landscape can coexist harmoniously.
Three vertical gardens adorn the hotel’s main exterior spaces, while vertical natural solutions are also found inside. The roof garden offers a fresh breath of greenery within the densely built city, just like the ONOMA Hotel itself.

As a conceptual urban hotel, ONOMA Hotel needed an impressive entrance that would highlight its contemporary personality. The clients believed that a lush vertical garden, maintained all year round would achieve this goal. Additionally, the aim was to invite nature inside the building, making appropriate use of the spaces and available surfaces. For the hotel’s private garden, which they named “Secret Garden”, they desired a living composition with seasonal blooms. On the other hand, they wanted the roof garden to exude a light, youthful character that would invite guests to sit by the pool in the summer.
For a modern hotel that embraces new technologies, we transferred this philosophy to its green spaces. In close collaboration with the architectural and engineering teams of the project, we constructed four different vertical garden points, which are interconnected and irrigated by the same central pump, for water saving and efficiency. The vertical garden in the Secret Garden area undertook the mission of aesthetically upgrading the space while simultaneously refreshing the atmosphere. Meanwhile, on the roof garden, guests can now enjoy their drinks, coffee, or food in a green environment. It’s an ideal backdrop for moments of relaxation, with a view of the city of Thessaloniki.
